Kindergarten
The Kindergarten program offers a Reggio-inspired approach with best practices in early childhood in alignment with the Arizona Department of Education Academic Standards. With a maximum of 18 students, our exceptionally low ratio of 1:9 allows for the development of the whole child. A blend of both child and teacher-led learning encourages children to engage as active participants in their construction of knowledge while accomplishing and/or exceeding the educational standards defined by the state board of education.
The students’ experiences are enhanced by discoveries through hands-on experimentation and purposeful play. These types of developmentally appropriate practices encourage long-term success in the academic arena. The Kindergarten curriculum extends beyond the traditional areas of learning and offers Atelier, Music, Spanish, Movement (P.E.), and the Culinary Arts. There are plenty of opportunities for outside discovery through the Outdoor Classroom/Playground.

Providing children with summer or late spring birthdays, the "gift of a year" can help set them up for success across their school trajectory. Our Kindergarten program can be used as a transitional kindergarten (TK), and we do recommend placement for the "gift of a year". If your preference is still for Pre-K, we will complete priority preschool registration with age-appropriate children first, before placing children already 5 years old on September 1st. We recommend enrolling in Kindergarten to secure your spot and marking your preference as Pre-K, if space permits.

Priority registration will open on November 17, 2025, at our informational meeting held that day for current preschool families, siblings of former students, and registered church members of six months or more. Registration opens to the community on February 17, 2026. Placement is determined first by priority status and then utilizing the point system (1 point for each year that each child attended and 0.5 point for Cottontail class). For example, if 2 children attend PPP for 2 years, then the family has 4 points.
The cost for Kindergarten has not been set by the Board of Directors at this time, but it will not exceed $13,000 for the school year. Click here for information on optional programs available to assist with tuition costs.

Play is an important part of kindergarten learning, as it helps make learning engaging and developmentally appropriate. The school day structure balances teacher-directed instruction, independent learning activities, and purposeful playtime while supporting a cohesive classroom community. You can help support your child by reading to them every day, providing a variety of reading materials, and encouraging them to draw.
