A Mind-Body-Spirit Root Cause Approach to Optimal Health and Wellness
with Dr. Robert Sheeler, M.D. & Dr. Angela O'Neil, M.D.
Most of us have grown accustomed to Health Care that is not very healthy or very caring. This is a detriment to both the person in need and to the healer as the relationship can be much more when it recognizes and honors the wholeness of the individual. That wholeness starts with the spirit and extends to the mind and the body.
We have both felt the deficit of wholeness in the current practice of medicine and sought further training and other approaches like Functional and Integrative Medicine. These disciplines seek to understand the root causes of illness rather than rapidly diagnosing a group of symptoms as a disease and prescribing a pill or a procedure.
In this seminar we would like to discuss the main root causes of disease with focus on gastrointestinal and autoimmune diseases to show how this approach can lead to deeper success. We will give an overview of how understanding has evolved and how these root causes can be elucided, understood and addressed in a way that honors and empowers both the person seeking help and the healer.
Which is more truthful: faith or science? On its face, this question presents a false choice. Science and faith belong to two separate realms. Both express deep truths about existence, but in very different ways. Science uses the symbolic form of mathematical equations to describe the mechanics of reality. Christian Faith uses the written word, the Bible, to depict the human condition and our relationship to God. The Fran Park Center for Faith and Life welcomes all who wish to participate in an open roundtable to discuss various current topics of faith and science.
