Where Wonder Meets Learning: Kindergarten at Pinnacle

For many families, it’s time to start thinking about next year as PPPK Kindergarten registration opens November 16th. At Pinnacle, the Coyote class is raising the bar, bringing the magic of Kindergarten back to how it was always intended, and how research shows children achieve the best long-term results. Our small class size and highly qualified teachers provide individualized attention to each child’s learning level. Studies have consistently linked low student-to-teacher ratios in the early years to stronger long-term academic performance in reading and math over time.

Tailored Instruction: Choice Boards foster independent work, offering scaffolded learning in literacy and math that stretch children’s current abilities. These enriching activities include engaging, hands-on materials that are playful for children but intentionally curated by teachers. The Choice Board format supports autonomy, time management, and goal setting - important executive function skills that are also strong predictors of long-term academic success.

Cohesive Community: As children foster meaningful relationships, they learn to collaborate, a critical skill with positive long-term impacts on behavior. Small group settings in early childhood encourage confidence to actively participate in and engage with learning. The confidence to speak up, ask for help, express ideas, and persevere through challenges are stackable skills supporting academic success.

Enriched Learning: The Coyote Kindergarten class offers five incredible specials for enriched learning: Spanish, Culinary Arts, Music, Movement, and Atelier. Introduction to Spanish in Kindergarten creates strong neural connections, supports emerging phonetic awareness for literacy development, and widens a child’s worldview. The culinary arts is a full sensory experience blending elements of literacy, math, science, and social studies. Often, recipe ingredients have been grown and harvested from our school garden, adding a farm-to-table touch. Music offers diverse opportunities from songs to instruments, with a monthly performance for Sing For Life, a community choir for individuals with early to mid-stage dementia and their caregivers, adding an intergenerational element. Movement blends traditional sports, like soccer and basketball, with less conventional elements, like yoga and gymnastics. Atelier is a studio of materials rich with possibility. Valuing creative expression in early childhood shapes how a child’s brain processes information, building the neural scaffolding required for high-level academic achievement.

Purposefully Prepared: “Thanks to a solid foundation and excellent preparation during his kindergarten year, our son has settled into first grade with ease. He developed a love for learning at PPPK and his curiosity and enthusiasm continues to be rewarded in first grade. Most importantly, the social skills and the confidence that his kindergarten teachers helped cultivate have made the transition to a new school and first grade much smoother.”

Priority registration for Kindergarten opens Monday, November 16th for current or alumni families and church members of six months or longer. Registration opens to the community in February, if space is still available. Whether you’re new to Pinnacle or curious about staying another year, we’d love to give you a tour and show you the Pinnacle difference of high-quality early education!
