UMOM is the largest homeless shelter for families in Arizona. Its mission is to provide homeless families and individuals with safe shelter, housing and supportive services to assist them in reaching their greatest potential. UMOM is unique in that it accepts the poorest and most vulnerable in our community, including women and children who are victims of domestic violence, homeless veteran families, single fathers with children, and families with teenage boys.
Read to Me Book Collection
UMOM is looking to fulfill the literary wishes of the children who attend Read To Me. You can help by donating any of the books on the following list or others of your choice: Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Big Nate, Dork Diaries, Minecraft, Goosebumps, Princesses, Lego, Pokemon, Dinosaurs, Superheroes (Batman, Captain America, Wonder Woman, Spiderman)
The Read to Me program runs strictly on donations, with an average of 150 books given out each week. They are always looking for books for children ages 4 - 12. Your purchase and donation of books can make a difference in the life of a homeless child. Sunday, October 22, is the last day to donate books before we make our delivery on Tuesday, October 24.
