What Mentors say about the experience:

In my business career, as in my personal life, I quickly realized that it wasn’t the markets, the geography, or the technologies that made the difference between success or failure, it was the people, it was always the people that make a difference. I have been a mentor many times during my time at the church, and I would like to think that I made a difference in the mentees that I have worked with. Nothing is more rewarding in life than seeing one of these youths walk through the doors of the church 2o years later and introduce me to their family and say" this is the man I told you about that made a difference in my life" - Gary Glava

"Being a mentor was a chance to get to know an outstanding young person at the church and an opportunity for that person to benefit from my own experiences in choosing a college and a career. I was fortunate as a professional scientist to mentor a youth with a desire to go into the same field and we also found we had a common interest in classical music. I have been fortunate in being able to integrate science and faith in my own life and I hope I gave my mentor the confidence to do the same in his own life. "-
David Schaller

"My favorite experiences with my confirmand were those lightbulb moments when a concept resonated with my student. To see their faces light up when they understand is immeasurable. This experience was wonderful for me and I would definitely do it again."
