Pinnacle Theological Center: Enriching Our Faith and Life
The principle of the Pinnacle Theological Center is to serve as a place where people may find their ideas challenged, their questions accepted, their hopes inspired, their minds educated, their hearts stirred and their lives enriched. It is a place for people to come together and deal with the great issues of life in light of the Christian faith.
Pinnacle Theological Center Focuses on Education
“Our Struggle to Improve the K–12 Educational System: Issues, Facts and Potential Solutions” constitutes the theme of Pinnacle Theological Center’s 2008 education forums.
Kicking
off the spring programs is “Educating for Global Competitiveness,” featuring
Shirley McCune, left, at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27.
Education has become increasingly critical and competitive. This environment presents challenges for both parents and children. Shirley has important insights on this topic due to her service as Educational Liaison for the Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, her assistance to the Mid–Continent Regional Educational Laboratory in providing educational policy assistance and training, and also her work developing academic standards and implementing educational reform.
The day and time of these events have been altered from our past series to 6 p.m. Wednesdays in order to coordinate with Club Wed activities. Hopefully this change will enable more parents with K–12 children to participate. Childcare will be offered as well. Another change to encourage participation is that these sessions are free, although voluntary contributions for defraying expenses will not be discouraged.
