This year, the Pinnacle Concert Series offers 10 concerts. Premium Seating will be available at selected concerts. These are seats in selected rows and the section is reserved only for those who purchase upgraded tickets. Tickets for upcoming concerts are on sale most Sundays throughout the concert season. Sietze De Vries, organ
Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008, 4 p.m.

Active as a concert organist in the Netherlands, Sietze de Vries has also presented concerts and master classes in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, England and the United States. He has won 15 national organ competitions and in 2002 he captured the international improvisation prize. You won’t want to miss this rare opportunity to hear a world–class master of baroque improvisation. Co–sponsored by Central Arizona Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.

Brent Hylton, organ

Fasten your seatbelts and settle in for a wild ride as Pinnacle’s resident organist Brent Hylton takes you on a tour of new and unusual organ music. This performance features such gems as George Ackerley’s 2004 award-winning A Sweet for Mother Goose” with narrator and Emma Lou Diemers’ Psalms for Percussion and Organ. Certain to be an afternoon of merry music-making!

The Phoenix Symphony
Presents A Night in Vienna

Spend an evening in Vienna as the Phoenix Symphony takes you on a tour down the beautiful Danube! The evening features the celebrated music of the Austrian capital, with Strauss waltzes, a Haydn symphony, and a Mozart piano concerto performed by Bosendorfer USASU International Piano Competition winner Sangyoung Kim.

Certainly one of the most beloved concerts of the season, “A Celebration of Christmas” continues to thrill and inspire all who attend. This annual holiday concert features Pinnacle’s Chancel Choir and Pinnacle Pealers along with special guests, Southwest Brass, as they usher in the holiday season with carols both old and new. Culled from the rich heritage of Advent and Christmas music, there is sure to be something for everyone!

*A special offering of your choosing will be received to support Casa de la Misericordia in Nogales, Mexico, and to further the fine arts program of Pinnacle Presbyterian Church.

Salt River Brass
Presents Holiday Pops

The bright bold sounds of Salt River Brass have been entertaining Valley audiences since 1988. This holiday feast for all ages blends classics such as Bizet’s Farandale with jazzy favorites like Here Comes Santa Claus that capture the child–like wonder of the season. The American folk tune Jesus, Jesus, Rest Your Head brings home the heart and soul of Christmas. Add a delightful soprano soloist leading an audience sing along and you are guaranteed an exceptional holiday experience!

Now a member of the voice faculty of Coastal Carolina University, Jeffrey Jones returns to the Valley to present a concert of contemporary American art and theater songs. Come listen to melodies old and new, all part of America’s rich musical landscape.

Stephen Tharp, hailed as “the organist for the connoisseur” by Organ magazine, is recognized as one of the great concert organists of our age. His many international tours and over 800 concerts in North America have earned him the reputation of most traveled organist of his generation. Mexico’s Three Tenors

The passionate performances of Mexico’s Three Tenors are musical explosions of operatic tenor favorites featuring famous arias such as Nessun Dorma. But the fireworks really begin when popular Mexican pieces are introduced! Spanning all generations and styles of Latin music, this trio shines brightest when singing these famous masterpieces. This promises to be a “South of the Border” experience you won’t want to miss! Ticket proceeds will help support Pinnacle’s new youth building.

Ken Medema in Concert

Ken Medema is a composer, singer and pianist who has been performing in the United States and Europe for more than 30 years. With over 25 albums published, the blind Christian artist has the uncanny ability to create music on the spot.
