African Drum Workshop

The music of the drums creates a conduit to the Divine. The African Drum Workshop, held Saturday, Jan. 9, in the Sanctuary, was an opportunity to experience worship with our bodies as well as our minds. ASU professor Dr. Mark Sunkett and members of the ASU African Drum Ensemble instructed participants on making music with African djembe drums and other percussion instruments. The workshop was part of the Time Out for the Arts series at PPC.

On Sunday, some of the workshop participants joined Dr. Sunkett and the Ensemble in performing during the 10 a.m. worship service.
