Pinnacle Welcomes Dr. Wes Avram as New Pastor
Pinnacle’s congregation approved the Pastor Nominating Committee’s recommendation to call Dr. Wesley D. Avram as PPC’s Pastor/Head of Staff on Sunday, April 19.
Rev. Avram is expected to begin his work at Pinnacle on July 1.
He has been serving as Senior Pastor/Head of Staff at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church, a 135–year–old, 3,000–plus–member church in Pennsylvania.
Wes grew up in Detroit, Mich., where his family worshiped in Presbyterian, Episcopalian and United Methodist congregations. His extended family now lives in West Virginia and Georgia.
Avram holds a Bachelor of Science in Speech from Northwestern University, a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Philosophy in Communications, from Northwestern.
His wife, Lynne, grew up in Swarthmore, Penn., and attended the Swarthmore Presbyterian Church. After graduating in economics from Brown University, she had a career in medical sales and consulting. She later studied nursing at Rush University. Much of her nursing practice has been in intensive care. She has also been active in support of biomedical treatments for autistic children and parent advocacy for children with special needs.
Wes and Lynne Avram have two sons, Andrew, 13, and Paul 11.
Over the April 17–19 weekend, Wes and his family visited PPC and attended several events, including an open house in the Fellowship Hall on Saturday and worship and reception on Sunday.
